CBSE Board Exam 2020 Update: Amid rising concern of students about the CBSE Board Exam 2020 Date, officials from the board have confirmed that complete cancellation of exams is not being considered by the CBSE. The clarification comes after several rumours went viral about CBSE considering cancellation of 10th and 12th Class Board Exams 2020 due to the prevailing situation due to Coronavirus pandemic. According to report published by NDTV on its website, the board is still at the discussion stage about the CBSE Board Exam 2020 and is closely monitoring the situation around COVID-19.

CBSEBoard Exam 2020 Dates After Lockdown Ends

However, CBSE officials also confirmed by final decision about CBSE 10th and 12th Board Exam Date 2020 will be taken by the board only after 3rd May, once the lockdown is lifted. According to CBSE Officials “"The discussions are still going on regarding the make decision on pending board examinations and a proper announcement on dates will be made only after analysing the situation after May 3.” This puts 12th Class students in a very precarious position as it will delay all admission process for undergraduate colleges and even professional programmes such as medical and engineering.

Only Important Papers Being Conducted by CBSE

As announced earlier, CBSE Board has already reviewed the situation and in line with that decided that it will be conducting the Board Exams only for 28 important papers or subjects. The subjects for which the exam are to be held are vital for students to seek admission to higher education institutions. Therefore, keeping their future in mind, the board is going to hold exams only for key subjects. In line with this, CBSE 10th Board Exam 2020 have already concluded for students across India, except for those from North East Delhi where exams were cancelled in early March. For 12th Class students, exams are now being only for key subjects that too for students who are based in India only. For overseas students, the board has cited logistical challenges and decided to cancel the board exams completely.
